Hurtigruten Classic Cruises

For a spectacular cruise through dramatic scenery join one of our Hurtigruten Classic Voyages. These cruises sail along the majestic fjords and coastline of northern Norway, calling at over 30 ports during their voyages. Many of these ports belong to idyllic hamlets and small islands which rely on Hurtigruten ships for delivering vital supplies and transporting their inhabitants to the nearest town for shopping. Larger ports of call during our Hurtigruten Classic Voyages offer guests the opportunity to enhance their itinerary with a variety of optional excursions such as dog sledding, city tours and Viking feasts.

There are three different Hurtigruten Classic Voyages to choose from: The Round Voyage, the Voyage South, the Voyage North. During winter guests on our voyages may see the Northern Lights, which are often named as one of the world's seven greatest natural wonders. In summer the Magnificent Midnight sun creates seemingly endless days, bathing the lush valleys in sunlight.

The Hurtigruten Classic Voyage North

Beginning in Bergen this Hurtigruten classic voyage travels north crossing the Arctic Circle, which increases your chance of seeing the Northern Lights in autumn and winter. Highlights of this Hurtigruten Classic Voyage include the magnificent Geirangerfjord (only during selected dates in summer) a UNESCO listed attraction. There is the opportunity to join an optional excursion to the North Cape, Europe's northernmost point. Ports of call include the quaint Art Nouveau town of Ålesund, which boasts an array of colourful houses, Norway's former capital Trondheim and Troms – the capital of the Arctic. The final destination of the 7 day voyage is Kirkenes, where you can visit the Russian Border and enjoy an excursion to the snow hotel in winter.

The Classic Voyage South

This cruise sails the opposite direction to the Hurtigruten Classic Voyage North, beginning in Kirkenes and finishing in Bergen in 6 days. The ship weaves through the breathtakingly beautiful Lofton Islands and offers passengers the opportunity to explore a variety of stoned villages and medieval towns including Troms , where there is a variety of amazing sights including the renowned Arctic Cathedral. This Hurtigruten Classic Voyage finishes in Bergen, where you will have the opportunity to buy last minute souvenirs.

The Hurtigruten Classic Round Voyage

For a comprehensive cruise of all the sights of Northern Norway we suggest the Hurtigruten Classic Round Voyage. This cruise is a combination of the Voyage North and Voyage South. The route begins in Bergen and travels north to Kirkenes then turning and voyaging south, visiting all the ports that were visited by night during the first part of the voyage.
