Dog Sledding in Troms

Experience the thrill of exploring a frozen wilderness and even possibly seeing the Northern Lights. Guests are transported to the island of Kval ya, which is surrounded by a backdrop of ocean and mountains. The friendly huskies will pull you with ease on an exhilarating ride. There is even a chance of seeing the mesmerising Aurora Borealis during these Hurtigruten excursions, which are available from October to April.

Hurtigruten Excursions in Trondheim

Many guests choose to join an excursion when their cruise calls at the medieval city of Trondheim. The ancient Viking city boasts an array of stunning sights which can be explored on our Trondheim with Nidaros Cathedral tour, which includes a bus tour through the town and a short stop at “Ustikten” which translates as “The View”, where you can admire the city from a high vantage point. Then the Hurtigruten excursion continues to the impressive Nidaros Cathedral, which is the only Gothic Cathedral in Norway and stands over the burial place of St Olav, Norway's patron saint. This excursion is available from October - April.

Another one of our popular Hurtigruten excursions in Trondheim is the Nidaros Cathedral & Ringve tour. This combines a guided tour one of the city's most spectacular attractions with a visit to the Ringve Museum of Musical History. Here an enthusiastic tour guide will take you on unforgettable musical journey through history. Guests on selected cruises between April – September can enjoy this excursion.

The Sverrsborge Tr ndelag Folk Museum is the final of our Hurtigruten excursions that is in Trondheim. During the tour guests can explore the ruins of Sion, a medieval castle, as well as visit the country's largest open-air museum and tour many other historic buildings of Trondheim, such as Norway's northernmost stave church, which was built by King Svere in 1182-83. This excursion is available April – September.

Summer Hurtigruten Excursions

Visit the inspirational Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is surrounded by dramatic mountains and a magnificent waterfall. These Hurtigruten excursions(available from 15.04 – 30.05) include a presentation about the famous fjord during all four seasons, a drive up rneveien “Eagle Road” with a stop at the renowned point known as Eagle bend, where you can enjoy a mesmerising panorama of the Geirangerfjord. Guest's who partake in this highly recommended Hurtigruten excursion also visit the Art Nouveau town of Ålesund, where they can witness some spectacular architecture on a short sightseeing trip.
